NetHui 2015 Report
The 5th annual NetHui was hosted at SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland from 8-10 July 2015. This year’s theme was “the Internet is everybody’s business,” which was reflected throughout the event programme found below.
A report on NetHui 2015 is now available which includes feedback from the participant survey as well as information about attendance, media coverage, sponsorship and budget.
The event was overwhelmingly enjoyed by attendees, with the participant feedback survey showing 75% of respondents being either moderately or extremely satisfied with their NetHui 2015 experience, 73% being either extremely likely or very likely to recommend NetHui to a friend and 75% feeling that NetHui was excellently organised.
Overall, nearly 450 participants attended NetHui 2015 in total, over the three days. Registration was $55 per attendee for Thursday and Friday and included morning and afternoon tea. Lunch for the Thursday and Friday was sponsored by Facebook, making NetHui 2015 the first year where lunch was provided to all for free. Wednesday Day Zero events were free to attend.
The preliminary budget results for NetHui 2015 show a positive result of $13,276 however this will be neutral with InternetNZ’s funding contribution expected to be $116,724, if expenses remain as they are at the time of this report, and approximately $120,000 provided by community sponsorship.
