RBI 2 community support: what is the demand?
Collaborative notes for the RBI 2 session

  • Who are those communities, who represents them and how do we know what they want?
  • To what degree has RBI 1 met the demand so far, and who is submitting into the RBI 2 Support Tender?
  • What opportunity is there for remote communities of less than 100 people to have their voice heard?
  • How many rural schools are now acting as hubs for community networks or are there barriers?
  • How many communities have built wireless networks as a result of RBI 1 or outside of the RBI process, and what are the lessons?
  • Are those who need broadband the most the ones who can least afford it?

IoT: imagining a connected world
Collaborative notes for the IoT session

The internet of things is on its way, whether as a fridge that knows to order trim milk for your weetbix or a sinister search engine trawling the ‘net for traffic lights and air conditioners to mess with.

We sit at the nexus of cloud computing, the internet of things and a more developed understanding of big data capabilities – can we handle exponential growth in data streams, processing power and analytics without generating exponential risk?
