- Who are those communities,who represents them and how do we know what they want?
- To what degree has RBI 1 met the demand so far, and who is submitting into the RBI 2 Support Tender?
- What opportunity is there for remote communities of less than 100 people to have their voice heard?
- How many rural schools are now acting as hubs for community networks or are there barriers?
- How many communities have built wireless networks as a result of RBI 1 or outside of the RBI process, and what are the lessons?
- Are those who need broadband the most the ones who can least afford it?

We sit at the nexus of cloud computing, the internet of things and a more developed understanding of big data capabilities – can we handle exponential growth in data streams, processing power and analytics without generating exponential risk?

The New Zealand Internet Research Forum (NZIRF) is a new network of researchers working in Internet research, spanning a wide range of fields including social media, virtual worlds, cybersecurity, activism online, crowd sourcing, computer engineering, copyright, gaming, digital politics, online communities, the virtual public sphere, online journalism, and digital literacy.
The NZIRF brings together those people involved and/or interested in the Internet to share perspectives, discuss potential links and collaborations, and most importantly to build a networked community that benefits New Zealanders. This meetup will discuss plans for a 2015 NZIRF Forum event.
